Greetings! I'm Robin Norgren, and it's a true privilege to be a part of the Montessori community. With nearly two decades of management experience, a deep love for education and creativity, I firmly believe that lifelong learning is the compass that guides us in navigating the complexities of our world.
Though born in Wurzburg, Germany, during my father's U.S. Army assignment, I mostly grew up in Detroit, Michigan. At 14, I moved to Arizona, a place I now call home. I've been happily married for 16 years to a dedicated U.S. Navy service member, affording me opportunities to travel extensively. In our journey, we've been blessed with two wonderful children - a 29-year-old son, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force stationed in North Korea, and a spirited 12-year-old daughter eagerly anticipating the start of Junior High.
My educational journey led me to Arizona State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in business management. For over 15 years, I thrived in the retail industry, relishing the role of mentor to young employees, guiding not just in work-related matters, but in life.
While my husband and I initially aspired to serve together in the military, life unfolded differently. Pursuing a theological path at Fuller Theological Seminary with dreams of becoming a chaplain, we were unexpectedly blessed with the news of our youngest child. Given the global climate at the time, we decided to reassess our family's trajectory, as my husband embarked on long deployments. A friend's impassioned endorsement of Montessori education resonated with me, prompting further exploration. This marked the start of a beautiful new chapter.
Embarking on my AMI certification, life led us to Virginia, prompting a temporary pause. Subsequently, I pursued and completed my AMS certification in 2016. Today, I continue my journey towards AMI certification, cherishing the profound insights both pathways offer - not only as educational methodologies but as lifestyles and worldviews.
My fervor for art education has led me to create and teach programs, benefiting pre-K to 6th-grade classrooms in both Arizona and Virginia. Having worked in a Reggio Emilia school, I bring a practical understanding of establishing an Atelier space within the classroom. My passion extends beyond kindling a love for lifelong learning; it encompasses setting an example through my own journey.
As your teacher, I am committed to providing your children not only with an enriching education but also an opportunity to cultivate confidence and independence. Together, we will nurture mindful, globally aware individuals, fostering their growth into peacemakers and change agents our world so ardently needs.
